Flashcards are one of the classic study tools, and for good reason – they promote studying through active recall, which is one of the practices through which brains learn most effectively.

A flashcard is a card bearing information on both sides, which is intended to be used as an aid in memorization. Each flashcard bears a question on one side and an answer on the other. This may include names, vocabulary, concepts, or procedures.
