A Fill in the Blank question consists of a phrase, sentence, or paragraph with a blank space where a student provides the missing word or words. Answers are scored if student answers match with the correct answers.

When Can you Use these Fill in the Blank Questions?

Fill-in-the-blank-type questions test the recall power of learners and not their ability to recognize or synthesize. Use them for situations where you want the learners to supply the answer based on how much they can remember.

The following steps will also guide you to use fill in the blanks block:

STEP 1:

Firstly, you will be needed to click on the ‘ADD NEW BLOCK’ tab as shown below in the image and then click on the ‘FILL IN THE BLANKS’.





STEP 2:

Please give a suitable TITLE to the block and also give a suitable block name.



STEP 3: Please write your QUESTION and show also the HINT by writing a hint. For writing the hint you will need to tick the box that says SHOW HINTS.



Note: You can also give an explanation by clicking on ADD EXPLANATION.

STEP 3:

CLICK ON ‘UPDATE AND SAVE’.



STEP 4:

Please click on the ‘VISIT YOUR SITE’ to view the block as a learner, or you can log in with the learners credentials.



STEP 5:

Now please click on the ‘RESUME’ tab.



STEP 6:

CLICK on the ‘START’ tab as shown below in the image.



STEP 7:

In this step, please click on the three-hyphen line which states ‘TOGGLE NAVIGATOR’ and then click on the title ‘MATHEMATICAL FILL UPS’ from the bottom left to see the learner side of FILL IN THE BLANKS.



You can now see the learner side of FILL IN THE BLANKS.
